Maintenance Assistant

General Purpose: Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment, electrical, plumbing and climate-control systems. Ensure facilities are in good operating condition.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day and long-term maintenance of plant facilities and offices
  • Report to plant manager any items affecting proper and safe operation of equipment
  • Prioritize assigned maintenance work to properly execute emergency and/or mechanical failure response
  • Develop appropriate maintenance plans in conjunction  with the plant manager as needed
  • Complete minor repairs to various equipment and facilities to ensure ongoing operations in a timely manner
  • Inspect equipment and systems for preventative maintenance
  • Inspect control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  • Adherence to BGCS attendance policies

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry
  • Welding experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Uses good time management, mechanical and organizational skills
  • Must be detailed-oriented and have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform independently and within teams

Production Operator

General Purpose: Entry level position. Under the direction of the Lead Chemist; mix and handle chemicals, record information and observations relating to the mixing process, troubleshoot issues with equipment, working as an integral part of the production team.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor machinery and instruments to ensure proper operation
  • Manipulate the chemical process using controls, and other input devices to operate machinery
  • Take chemical samples as required
  • Examine equipment daily to identify any issues and report to supervisor
  • Storing, retrieving, mixing and monitoring chemicals used in the production process
  • Recording information, such as ingredients, weights and temperature
  • Troubleshooting issues with production equipment and processes
  • Working with all team members to complete the production process
  • Must meet physical requirements of the position
  • Operating a forklift
  • Adherence to BGCS attendance policies

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Forklift experience
  • Understanding of chemical processes
  • Aptitude for mechanics
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality
  • Willing to meet on-call obligations as needed
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Position requires highest attention to detail
  • Effectively work within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all personnel levels
